Session request for RDA-Engage working group

Postby inkouper » Sun Jan 27, 2013 8:27 pm

We would like to request a f2f meeting time in Gothenburg for our RDA-Engage working group (whether in the WG or BoF format, see the group case statement here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=35).

The chairs are Andrew Maffei, Inna Kouper and Marcio Faerman. The goal of the meeting is to discuss the progress of the group to date, the framework of researcher engagement and the connections between RDA-Engage and other groups. The duration of the meeting will probably be 1-1.5 hours.

In addition to f2f arrangements, we would like to request technological support for remote participation (e.g., via web conferencing or teleconferencing), both during the main event and for our working group meet-up.

It's interesting to note that there are currently requests for "Agricultural Data Interoperability Group" and "Structural Biology". I know of another group interested in "Ocean Data Interoperability". We can probably assume that the number of these discipline-specific data groups are going to proliferate. RDA will have to provide some sort of framework, guidelines, etc. for their engagement. More about this is discussed in our WG Case Study Topic -- http://forum.rd-alliance.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=26

It would be helpful if our timeslot was scheduled so that individuals in the above sessions (and any other sessions related to specific science discipline data interoperability) could attend our session (or BOF).
